Rosie those are fantastic..I love them both so different from each other.Your designs are wonderful as well as the colors. just out of curiosity what wee they willing to pay you o do this?I am soing a little show in mar and don't know how much to charge for anything.of course you daid they had their own tray so that would have to be considered.Great for you..to have people requesting your artwork.

How cool are those? Does it make you nervous to do commisioned stuff? That scares the heck outta me. Gives me brain freeze trying to figure out what someone else expects.

But these, heck, they'd be stupified, certified morons not to LOVE them!

Oh, dahling......so terribly happy you were able to finish "my" tray....LOL!! LOVE them both, but the first one really strikes me! Found those same flower-shaped mini tiles on a badly done and not grouted frame at a TS about 2 yrs ago.

BTW - congrats on having your work requested at the gallery! That's a wonderful compliment to your lovely talent!!

Thank y'all for your compliments. I HOPE the recipients like them and don't balk at the price. They will be slightly more expensive than the tray I had originally placed there but can't be too outrageous because I never got to talk with them--only the gallery owner. I AM going to let her know that no more commissions unless I can talk directly to the requestor! I was extremely nervous about doing them because I thought "what if they hate them"? I'll have put all that time and glass into a project and they don't like it! You know it is really funny that the more mosaics I do, the higher the price I think they deserve....

They are absolutely gorgeous.
But I know what you mean about commissions, its a little nervewrecking. I have only done 2 for my daughter and 2 for her neighbors, (who kept changing the designs, ugh), but it turned out o.k.
I just cant imagine them not liking your trays though.

I totally understand Rosie.....................I did sell Akin..Brave African Warrier! But by the time the gallery owner takes her commission...............then I think...hmmmmmmmmm.......but I don't do it for the money......that is just a bonus....mosaicing is my therapy....because I would be mosacing anyway...and only do WHAT I LIKE............but I hate commission work...as it turns into a JOB......and then I hate every step of the way...I'm not right!

Uh oh, ROSIE has caught the "outta the box" bug. I see a slight change in style, and it' BEAUTIFUL. Y'all might thing talking to the requester is best, but I'd have to disagree. That leaves you totally free to do what you like and not be limited to their demands, which to me, is a big bonus. I would NEVER be tied down to do something to the demands of someone else. After all, if they were an artist, they'd be doing their own trays. They'll love them, ROSIE.
