See, not to worry, you did a great job! Very smooth and no grout creep! I guess I can't wait to grout once I get finished because I think my glass looks uneven and I'm hoping the grout ties it all together. So did I miss what color you are using on your backsplash?

Very neatly done for your first grouting experience! See, not so hard was it? Love the cobalt with the bright yellow - two of my favorite colors. OK, now that you can grout, there's NOTHING stopping you and we can't wait to see more and more and more!!

Nope, still haven't decided on backsplash grout. I bought "Sauterne" from Lowe's, and was planning on using that, but it's too light. I did use it on my exchange project, but it's too light for the backsplash. I'm going to have to get a darker beige for the B-Splash, I think.

Hey, you should see the next section of the B-Splash btw...I took it in a totally different direction than the other pieces (not too far, but got 3D stuff in it!) Totally liking it so far, but gotta bring it "back" to what I was doing in pieces 1 & 2 or it's going to be too far off. Course, it's on the other side of the window, so it *would* work if I left it like that, but nope, gotta fix it.

This is what happens whenever I "stop" working a project for very long...my style changes, and it doesn't look the same as the first part. I'll post pix after I pull it back together.

Ok, just a couple hints: Orange souvenier mug from Florida, asian-looking jar (both cut in half- used both halves of each), and a couple of pink flamingos. (See, I told you I need to fix it.)

Turned out really good. I never could get used to wearing gloves. I'm used to have blackened hands and nails.

YIPPIEEEEEE MM good for you and you did a very nice job of it. I still get a little squemish smearing all that cement on top of my work but then it turns out so pulled together when it is done. I am so glad you ventured out into grout.

You certainly learn quickly. Nice job on your first grouting. I am soooooooo anxious to see your backsplash finished. It is absolutely spectacular. Makes me wanna tear mine out and do the same, but NOT.

FYI- I'm not tearing anything out to install the new backsplash. It's going right over the currently color-wash painted yellow wall. It'll sit right on top of the small backsplash that comes up from the counter, covering the existing wall. If I hate in in a few weeks or years, I just unscrew it, and take it down, with only a few screw-holes to prove that it was ever there. That works for me.
