My kids had this really cool solar system that was made up of styrofoam balls of various sizes from about three inches up to six inches or so. It was kind of a mobile but had a motorized hanger that actually let them orbit the "sun", in two different directions in two tiers. I only go into the detail because it really was neat. HOWEVER, being the little destructos they are, several planets have lost their moons, one is broken in half, etc. SOOOO, being the make-lemonade person I am, I have been mosaicing the balls that are left, and want to do EVEN MORE!!!!

What I want to find are styrofoam balls that are NOT made of that crumbly stuff that rubs off like sand when it gets old, but the kind with a very smooth surface, molded from millions of little tiny white styrofoam balls. That's what my "planets" are made of, and it makes the NICEST mosaiced balls, not too heavy, very stable. I think they would make very nice Christmas ornaments, and they glue up very quickly once I have my glass cut (pretty small, about 3/8" squares). TIA!!!
