WIP Scrap Glass Dresser

The other day I picked up a couple boxes of scrap glass. As I was sorting I noticed scads of half circles and triangles. Brain went into gear. I am working on another project but just had to stop and do this fast project dresser. Easier to glue the glass down than to find a place to store it. The dresser was a $5.00 yard sale piece of junk so no good furniture was harmed with this project.

I had already put glass purple squares on the three shelf half shelf.. I swapped out some of the light purple glass globs to go more with what I did to the dresser. The shelf sits on top of dresser and holds plants.Laying down right now as the glass globs are still drying in place.

I am considering a light purple grout. I started off thinking green grout. Leaning towards purple. Going to see if I can figure out how to work my paint program. to see what purple would look like.

{{!gwi}} I finished the other side too.

The small piece on the bottom of the dresser.

This is the shelf that will sit on top of the dresser.

I have a few half circles and triangles and am trying to think of just a little something to put on the front of the drawers. Never planned to do anything on the fronts and might just paint them.

Didn't you do another dresser?? Something to put a lady lamp on? Was that you? Anyhoo, lookin' good! And the:
no dressers were harmed...too funny!heh heh!

Well that's about the prettiest design I've seen in a LONG time. Are the triangles clear, textured glass? You've certainly used scraps to a wonderful advantage. On the drawers you could just continue the design around or between the pulls. I LOVE the way you used the half circles. I bought a whole bunch of white ovals from M/Maria recently, and LOVE to use them. Wish I could whip out ovals w/the morton system quickly - they're very versatile. REALLY LOVE your dresser.

Shades, that is so cute! How creative you are! Gosh, that's a lot of scraps! I'm with you, NT, need to find some scraps like that. I'm trying to figure out what your triangles are? Irridized textured glass? They look glittery in the photo.

Hahaha...No Dressers were Harmed! Too funny Shades.
LOVE what you have done with that dresser. The design
is really cool, and I LOVE all the colors. I wish I could be so free with color. I also LOVE that you use furniture pieces in your art. It sure has me looking around here for
something to jazz up! and Purple grout would be awesome!

I love what you've done with it. Have a question on the shelf piece. I see little florals there that look like fabric prints. Did you put fabric under clear glass, or is that from plates or something?

Good Morning I think. Heheheh. Still trying to wake up FAST so I can start grouting this thing.

Yes the clear glass is Irridized textured glass? Has what looks like little bubbles in it. There were enough to do all the sides and just shy a few to do the lower front but I think it is ok as is and I do not think too many will get close enough to see.

Hehehe I like the Gum Drop dresser too or it made me think of Candy Land. That is probably showing my age. Hehehe

Hazie using all the bright colors is not usually me but I think it will be ok. I can always banish it out to the dog grooming room. I use this little dresser to house all of my glass beads.

Clamity I did do another dresser. All in purple. I was going to put my lady on top of it but when it was done it seemed better to be in the closet. That is ok. It gives me a chance to do another thing to set my lady on. OH MAN I have so many ideas and things to mosaic.

The stained glass artist I got the scrap from does 3D stained glass objects and now that I looked at her webpage. I can see where all the half circles and triangles came from. I LOVE it. I really do not have many half circles left right now. They said to call back in a couple of months for more scrap and hoping there will be more half circles in that batch to do the drawers.

Thanks Again every one. I hope to get this pup grouted today so I can get back to the other WIP dresser I have been working on. Hehehehe No pictures of it yet. Tease.

LOL the shelf is sitting on the trunk at the end of our bed. There is a quilt I made all by hand on the top of the trunk. I had to take the picture of the shelf laying down because the glass globs had just been glued on and would slide off if I stood it up.

OK I am going to go grout this thing. I hope. Think I will take the phone off the hook.

You do some excellent work. I always wanted to make a quilt like that it is really pretty. I bet that was a job.

Very cool Chris! You do the most awesome furniture!

Did you decide on the grout yet??? Dying to see!!!

LALA - quilting is no bigger job than mosaicing. I used to quilt every spare minute I could find - all by hand. It's just as big an obsession as mosaicing. Mosaicing has gobbled up every hobbie I ever had. Anxious to see the dresser grouted, SHADES.

Thanks for the nice comments LaLA and Annie. Yep I agree with slow. . Quilting is very much like mosaics piecing it together and design. I too have let my quilting to go do mosaics.

Well last nights pictrues are actually better than todays. Window turns the picture too dark. The camera flash wipes out the light grout color. It really is a light purple and it is grouted. I showed some close up's to prove it. LOL

Thanks Again I am off to try to celan up my mess.

That's REALLY PRETTY, SHADES. I sincerely love those half circles. The combination of those and the triangles and the half marbles is just superb. Very neat work.
