Oh my goodness.... it's darling!!! The button heart looks wonderful to me and I love the bits of glitter to jazz it up! I think the darker ribbon color sets the whole piece off just right! VERY sweet and very creative!!!

Frit is crushed glass. You can buy it in different coarseness. It is expensive to buy so if you can make it like TMG did, you've saved a lot.

What a good idea. I always look at plates in terms of cutting up instead of covering up. They have nice borders. Looks cute. great idea with the buttons!

OMG!! That is a cute idea!! Just don't tell my Mom...she collects those state plates - around here they go for $5(little tiny ones) to $15-20 for the regular sized ones. My sis and I are STILL trying to find all the ones she's missing since she wants to have all 50 states. Wish I lived nearer you, I'd come scavenging!!

Gosh*blush* Thanks,ya'll :) I hope I didn't cover any you're collecting, I used Wyoming and Georgia. I'd passed A LOT of them up at the flea market when I realized what I could do with them,and all were a dollar or less here. I did one that has the baby alphabet beads that says Always Kiss Me Goodnight and mosaiced it over a state plate,but I don't remember what it was. I didn't see a blender,though..hehe...to make my own 'frit' :)

Well I'll be danged. I NEVER would have thought of that. I have several of those, and was going to cut them apart to use those borders. That is the sweetest little thing, and I LOVE the ribbon - color is perfect. I'll check my stash, CURB, to see what states I have.

That is very pretty. I have one of those little plates I might have to give this a try. I do like the darker ribbon.
