What material holds up best outdoors? Does the brass turn black?

Kiki, metal outside will always tarnish I would guess using a stainless steel would be your best bet

what is the best adhesive for gluing the ball chain onto the substrate? I tried weldbond on a rock with no luck!! help please!!
