That is a great first panel!!! Good job! And good for you for taking a class, it is a good way to start! And YES the smell goes away(I think the more you use it!) I'm so glad you are having so much fun, I love doing stained glass! I'll be looking forward to your futre projects, you are already putting me to shame with such a nice first one!!!

LYNDALU: I do believe you have the "gift". Everything you touch turns to GOLD! That is a FABULOUS first piece! Beautiful workmanship!

I've not done stained glass... but it sure looks BEAUTIFULLY done to me!!! Congratulations! And... all those new tools! WOW! Obviously you're jumping right in and having FUN with them! Hooray! GREAT job!

Beautiful job lynda.Love the chili peppers.I got a ring saw 3 mo. ago but haven't opened the box yet.I'm trying to learn to cut by hand ,but think I'll break out the saw and at least see what it looks like.Great job.I sure would like to take that course with you in Miami...

I haven't played with solder in about a year. Great work!

Wish I had a ring saw...I'm jealous. My cuts are still terrible after 12year, never will get good at it, just have to make big solder lines. Good job!

Thank you guys so much for your compliments and encouragement. I'm just loving working with glass and like so many of you said, I'm so glad I decided to take the class. Hazie - I think I will be like you, in that mosaics will always be my favorite. The class has helped me get used to working with glass and all the tools that go along with it, which is helpful for mosaics, too.

You need a LOT more tools for working with glass (than with plates), but that's okay, cause I just love tools. Crazy, huh. Oh, well - I know I'm in good company! LOL

Oh, and I just finished my first mosaic piece with glass - a mushroom. I'll get a picture of it and post it tomorrow.

Thanks again. I'm a little nervous about the whole soldering thing. Anybody have any tips to offer me? I'll start soldering in this Thursday night's class.

Don't be nervous about the soldering! It my be difficult to get a smooth bead at first, but you can do it. This is gonna open up a whole new can of worms for you!! You'll be able to create lots of neat glass stuff.

I've been stained glassing for a couple years now and I still have much bigger gaps than this in my work! Congratulations!
