( have you ever tried "liquid gloves" for your hands? It works well for me)

Lori: Where do you find liquid gloves and is it something you just rub on your hands???

Wow! These colors are right up my alley! I was excited to see your post as my DH and I did a trivet and coaster set as well. Yours are much nicer, but I will post them to the photobucket sight when I get that figured out as it was my first mosaic. I'm excited to do more, and your project is inspiring.

    Glad to have another looksee..

Barb, someone gave me a small tube of liquid glove once, it was like a hand lotion to use before you worked with anything dirty. It protects the hands and makes cleaning them a lot easier. I have found a similar product at Ace Hardware called invisible glove. I am wondering if Gojo would work too if you used it before you grout .

JOYY - I LOVE those - you and I like the same colors. Those are so yummy. PLEASE try to adjust using gloves. Recently I bought the regular grouting gloves at Lowes. Those laytex ones you use to wash dishes aren't bad, but the big loose grouting gloves are easier to get on/off. Also, the cotton ones w/rubber palms are pretty good too.

I really love those - give me some inspiration to try coasters. I like the pattern and the colors you used. What a good way to brighten up a table.

Had to jump in again! the bra's!hahaha hardly ever! hahah
But as far as the hands cracking...I only had that problem
when I grouted my backsplash for 2 ..12 hour days. I hate gloves too.
That project required no gloves...I used tumbled marble, and the fossils in the tiles, required very careful grouting. My fingers were bleeding....and I'd have done it again! There is no grout in my fossils, or holes. I just saw a decorator do the same tiles...and it was all lost in the grout. I BLEED FOR MY ART!HAHAHAHA
I actually used the rubber gloves afterwards..I put vaseline
on my hands, and slept with the gloves for 2 nights....and I was good as new!

thanks for all the compliments/ encouragement everyone! i'm almost done everything, now. i've made 24 mosaics in all this month, including two switchplates, 12 coasters, 3 trivets, 7 candle holders. i have to grout only two more coasters and one more trivet and i'm DONE!!!

most of those mosaics are going wayyyy up north with dw on boxing day so i didn't have a moment to spare b/c we're having a festivus party tomorrow night and my folks here on christmas day. while ker's gone, i'm sure i'll start a million more projects.. maybe even go to the glass store!!! :D

it's funny b/c yesterday evening i felt burnt out with all of it. this morning, i'm already thinking, 'what can i do next?'

as far as gloves, i don't have the proper ones for sure. i notice problems only when i grout a lot of things at once. i'll have to take a look in home depot (or lowes - they just opened THREE of them up here - yay!!!)

AND......as far as bras.... well, i hate those more than the feeling of gloves. i also refuse to wear a touque.. even though it tends to get cold up here...
