I don't know whether it goes with the room or not, but I would be unable to pass up that table! It's one of those pieces you buy and then figure out what to do with it.

Hi MellyC. That is a sweet table :-) My first instinct is BUY it and find a paint colour to match the blue glass bottle on the desk. Find hardware to coordinate with existing pulls on desk/corner cabinet Add a blue in the same range for the puppy cuddle cup.

Then I'd lower the picture frame over the desk so it aligns horizontally with the height of the corner cabinet once the pieces are rearranged. Maybe a add a sea foam green or bottle green tone-on-tone print cushion set for the rocker.

If you tatt or crochet, a nice touch would be a hand-made runner for the desk top. No overhang, just end-to-end. A soft sea shell pink/peach to bring upwards the floor colour. The tile floor is a lovely colour.

You can have fun adding little touches with textiles for the new couch & chairs. Oh! Is the small hassock grey or green? You may want to consider finding a second one similar size/shape, coordinating colour (doesn't have to match) so you have one for each chair.

Hope the early morning, coffee sipping ramblings of an old lady are helpful :-)

What a gorgeous lyre table!

Buy it!

I bought it.!!! It looks so much better than the cl photo.

Thanks for the the comments. I will probably look for a rug before I decide on paint color.
