You were inspired by WHAT???!!!

I don't remember where I got this acrylic container- pretty sure it started out life as a biscotti container about 3 years ago. I couldn't bring myself to throw it out, so it's been hanging around my house waiting for a new life. (I did rotate this in P-bucket...hopefully you don't have to turn your head sideways...)

Then I got inspired the other day while having a cheetos attack, and a popcorn binge...

I got a new order from Marias which included (what I thought at the time) was a horrendous 2lb mix of vitreous tiles. I sorted them all, then just started glueing...

...and glueing...

...and glueing...

...wait, no, I need a little dab of color in here, and- shoot, do I have enough of those?

Did I mention how much dried E6k glue goobers are now shed all over my livingroom rug?

Wah-lah...new life. Gray grout later. Nope, not planning on doing the knob...

I like it! I've never worked with vitreous tiles. Someday I'm going to order some. So is this the CheetoPop Dream Jar?? :)

You are on a roll! And if you wanna know shame, you should see my housecoat, cuz I start gluing before my first cup of coffee most days! So be warned about this addiction and where the silicone ends up!!!lol! I got an email going with Maria and have been drooling over those mini ever since!!! Klinger and I are gonna make an order...soooooon!!! Those are the exact orange I am drooling over!

The knob is too pretty to mosaic. I love the turquoise colors with the red/orange accents.

I do hope you store cheetos in that jar!!

    Anything else wouldn't be right.

    Excellent job!

Great job & I love your inspiration. I bought some of those tiles too. I'm going to use them on some birdhouse gourds once they are ready.

Great idea! I love the colors... and the way you flipped over some of the tiles for interest! Are you grouting today? Looking forward to seeing it!

I think I have to go get some grout...the only 'gray' that I have at home is "Silver Shadow," and I don't think that's gray enough for this.

Ok, kids...get out your Laticrete charts; I just had a suggestion made, and not sure if I should go this route:

Should I go with "Platinum," "Slate Gray," or "Twilight Blue?"

Why not black..I think black would make it Snap, Pop and Cheetzle!! You are postiively HOT HOT HOT right now M&M...anxoius to see what's next!!! Great job!

I don't have a Laticrete chart, but I think black or a midnight blue would look great!

    Da Cheetoh Bomb! Woohoo!
    Love those colors.

Not sure I'm thrilled with any of these, actually, but you're right; the black looks best of all the choices:

What a wonderful design! Inspirtion does come from odd places, doesn't it? On the grout color - I'm with you, the colors all seem to be close, but not "IT". I do like the black best of the 3, tho. What about a combination of the grey and black to get a real dark grey that skews definitely grey??

    Just an idea -

I vote charcoal for the grout. I love it! Yep, you're on a roll alright.

    I vote black too.
I've heard many a time "I should have done black"
But I've never heard, yet anyway..."I shouldn't have done black"

Well, girls, I found THE color...this is it, and everyone should take notice and use this on EVERYTHING you make!

    I present...

    HOT PINK!!!!!

huuummmm....you breaking into the nog again?

Well Actually I was going to say orange. But since you are so hooked on EYE POPPING HOT PINK go for it. NOT

Honestly I like the gray the best but I am weird with grout.I think the gray lets the design show better than overtaking the design.

What? You don't LIKE the pink? Aw, come on...it's BEYOOTIFUL!!!

I forgot to bring it home last night...still pondering on the grout. It'll be between the black and the gray...I like both, and like you say, Chris, the gray lets the design show off. I do like it when the grout becomes part of the design, though...like black does. With my backsplash, the cinnamon color compliments all the colors, but stays in the background enough to not BE a part of the design...
They are running neck & neck right now...black is got a slight edge, though. I'm sure I'll have it done over the weekend to show off, though.
