Hi Pam,
Your husband is right on! We don't even put curtain in or on our windows. Except the guest room, there are blinds inside the beautiful windows there. If you must have curtains, then do light and make them as invisible as possible.

Sasafras, these windows face west so the pm sun is hot and bright. We need window coverings to block. We'd invest in shutters or wooden blinds, but our budget is tight right now.

...Pam

I didn't want to cover my trim work either, so I did all inside mounts of shades and shutters (no curtains). The trim is all white and the shutters are white, but I used colored shades to match the decor of those rooms. Both ways look good!

prairiedawnpam, I've been seeing mostly panels like that too, but if I had pretty trim, I'd put the panels inside or use Roman shades that fit inside.

What colors are your carpet & furniture? I'm horrible with picking colors and patterns, but I bet if you post a picture with a little more info, there are people here who can pinpoint just what you need.

Can you show us a pic, Pam?

The pics posted as a new thread, probably because I renamed the subject. Here they are.

Hubby would prefer curtains hung inside the window frames to show off the windows and trim,

His idea will not work except for pole top sheers. And then you have the problem of where they end.

Place the rods high and wide so that you could - but you won't - pull the drapes completely away from the window frame.

When I change the subject do I get a new thread or just a reply?
