I can understand why you want to "help" it but I think the simplicity of it reflects the sentiment. Can't wait to see how you dress that up. You're very creative.

    yes, it's sweet.

I rather think the sentiment should be "all ya need is love and glass" LOL

    have at it Jane

ALL YOU NEED, IS TO LOVE GLASS

    Oh boy..Janie's thinking!!!

Too funny! Everytime the girls or hubby buy me something,
The first thing they say is " I tried to find you something you couldn't mosaic!" My DD 20 even kept a gift from me for months, hoping I'd stop mosiacing everything I saw...then she'd give it to me.

I have 2 words for that plaque
    Crash Glass

It's a beautiful plaque and my first thought was to leave it as is....BUT....I kinda like the crash glass idea...Good luck!

I was playing with this glass I hauled home from The Haciendo Mosaico, making hearts and such and just used some of this glass so far....I'm not going to grout...not sure if I'm done yet either. Was thinking of adding glass shards around the sides, sticking out, like the top of the Hacienda walls were, but I seem to be in a hording moment(ever get that way, were you don't want to use anything???)I have a bunch of roses and dishes that I was concidering doing the cross with, and just can't bring myself to do it. Then I thought mirror tile, nope. Want to also do a shroom and it's the middle of winter, just were am I to do the concrete part? Guess I could do it in my room! Klinger gives me these great mattress plastic bags. I'm rambling!!! Here's the pic.(Looks good on the green wall!)(Just looking at this, makes me wanna do a sneaky snake!)

Just cover the whole thing with crash glass and black grout. It will look beautiful and accenuate (did I spell that right)the look it already has. I have seen it done with old sheet music and poetry and its beautiful. Your DS had to know you couldnt leave it alone LOL
    Heres an example, not mine

I really like what you've done with it! Think I'd call it good! Dressed up but understated, nice! I mean, Jane! :)

I like what you've done too. My DD would love that. She's a huge Beatles fan.

OH Janie, I like it just as you have it in the picture. Love the colors and the green hearts.

And YEP I had bunches of stuff I had hoarded and never wanted to use until I found myself dragging it out when I did my Louise. Maybe there was a reason I was hoarding the stuff I just did not know it until it almost slapped me in the face.

I got this lamp from behind the local stained glass shop, nobody was willing to steal it so I asked if I could have it, it had 3 broken panes off it and I just saw it as a wall sconce! Soooo, I hauled it in today and tried to figure out how I wanted to get it to hang on the wall. After much deliberation, sighing in frustrastion, I looked up and straight at the $2 mirror I hung up, and lo and behold, it was a magic moment!!(Plus I didn't feel like truckin' out to the shed to look for more crap to work on it, soooo it was fixed up with a bit of copper strapping, the kind you use for plumbing, (or crafts!LOL) and hung it on the mirror, and boy it is looking real funky!!! I can tell that there is more to be added to this magical creation, but am quite happy with the start! Still gotta find a light to go in it, and it is trying to tell me something...that it will be really something different when I'm done! I'm pleased as punch with saving it so far, both the mirror(that was sitting outside) and the lamp(also sitting outside!) and giving them a new lease on life! DH just rolls his eyes! It is just too over the top for him!lol!

OH Janie what a FIND!!!! So nice you asked to and they gave it to you. That is just beautiful!!! I can see a little GOG on the mirror. OH NO Can you cut out a saloon silloute(SP?) You know the man and woman leaning against the wall kind of thing. OH DEAR I MUST get to bed my brain is working on your project and I have my own to do. But hey if hubby already thinks it is over the top then GO FOR IT and put that baby over the top.

ORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR How about doing a flat mannequin under the lamp shade on the mirror. Hehehehe

You are so lucky!! I am happy for you!!! Just do not get hurt working on this one!!!

    PERFECT!!! I love the plaque.

I can't make out what's happening with the lamp, bad pics

Oh, I missed this one too. Janey, I had that piece of glass too from Sam's stash. I put it on my cross plaque. What kind of glass is that? The shower rings appears to be frosted glass like it, too. What are they? I LOVE your plaque, and it's N.O.T. plain Jane. The shape is very iconic, which I LOVE. VERY nice piece of art.

Jane, your plaque turned out really nice, what does dd think? I remember when you got that lamp, I LOVE the color of the glass in it!
