WOW Icheer. Those are so pretty!!!! you realy have the knack of cutting glass down!!! I love them all but am especially partial to frogs. What a perfect little guy.

Those are so nice. You did a super job on them, but I have one problem with them...
They're making me think I have to make a mold to make some for myself, LOL, and I have enough half baked projects going, I need to actually do something!

I see you had already figured out the linking while I was messing around trying to get example code to show on the other post. Oh well, I didn't ever figure out how to make it show the typing instead of trying to put a non-existent picture there anyway, LOL!

I can't believe how much depth there is to your pieces. They look so dimensional. You REALLY produce, girlie. When do you sleep?

Those are great. Even if I could cut that well, my pieces never seem to really reflect what I'm trying to show, like that parrot seems to be talking to the other parrot. I especially like that one. Great job!

They are so pretty. Did you poor cement or put the glass on ready-made stones? I always wanted to make stepping stones, but dont know about getting it all straight with pouring the cement. Yours look so perfect.

Bianchi - those are ready made 12" stepping stones. I used Thinset to adhere the glass design to the stone, then grouted, then sealed. All of the patterns are stained glass patterns that I found free online. They were very easy - give it a try!

disclaimer: we have very, very mild temps here in the deep south so I'm not sure how well a large grout area will hold up in colder climates. So far the ones I made this summer look just like new with no cracks in the grout. I sealed the heck out of them though - just in case!

They are all great! I am partial to the red winged blackbird myself. Oh, this winter is going to be so long. I can't wait to work outdoors again.

Wow, I thought you had done them indirect! Grouted, hmmm..I don't know if they'd hold up here, even if I put them in the shed. I like the simplicity of just the pattern and no filler. Have a spot in front I need some stones and that appeals to me. I may do them indirect, though.

Maria, the stepping stones I did for the fundraiser for work were done using the indirect method. These I just cut just like I would for a stained glass panel and slapped 'em on the stone :-)

I think both methods have their strengths and weaknesses. These stepping stones were easy to get a nice grout surface (resembling concrete) because I smoothed them with a damp sponge approx 5, 15 and 30 minutes after grouting. The ones I did for work were done assembly line fashion and they were only smoothed once with a damp sponge, so the surface on them is a little rougher.
