Lovely indeed...Love seeing these vignettes, I love knowing
that there are people out there like me with a lot of 'stuff.' :)
Well actually, I have too much stuff but no matter how much I try to lighten up ... it comes back!

    Piano top.

More of too much stuff...My desk in the Family room.
since taking this photo, I removed the computer picture frame on the very left. It looks
    better now.

    Kitchen table...orange tree...

The tree is real, the oranges fake! :)

It fools everybody, and I get a lot of wows on this
    plant! LOL...it's so fun.

Here is another vignette pic I took this morning. Sometimes these happen by accident. Normally I would have these items in separate rooms.

Love the bust of David w/ necklaces!

Joann, yes the bedside table and king sized bed is to the left of these shoes racks. And I also love the bust with the necklaces. So many other great vignettes shown here!

    Very nice!

I love looking at vingettes and would love to do some around my house but my easy clean freak side won't let me if there is more than one item on a surface it is too hard to dust. Please post more they are a joy to look at.

Thank you so much for the lovely photos and inspiration. I realize that I have spent very little time on those finishing vignettes in my house, and I need to do more. It is a struggle as we have a whole attic full of tchotchkes, but not the right tchotchkes....there all stuff we inherited from cleaning out parents' houses and some of it is sentimental, some of it is "still useful", but much of it is not right or not my taste. Also a ton of it is still boxed up and out of sight. So the thought of buying more stuff is anathema, but trying to make what we have "work well enough" isn't overly inspirational.

So I think this winter's project will be to unbox and either unload or make use of a bunch of that stuff and create lovely vignettes to finish the house. Thank you all so much for the inspiration!

CLBlakely - totally hear ya! My 'vignette's' have become greatly pared down over the yrs!

They've gone from David w/ stacks of necklaces and books to a floral arrangement from my garden (bad, bad silk sometimes in the winter lol!), a picture and a book that I'm actually reading! I'm trying to figure out what to do w/ my big hurricane candle holders because I don't regulalry use them and if I don't use them why dust around them, right?

I admit to hoarding and buying old books because of the colors of the covers and stacking them all over but I'm okay w/ that because I only buy those that I would actually read if I had time. I do see people pick them up and leaf through a passage or 2 so that's being used in my book (sorry for the bad pun!).

And even though now I would never buy those little enamel frog boxes on my bedside table (I'd admire and appreciate them and move on) , my kids bought them for me for Mother's day and Christmas and I treasure them & they hold my rings, earrings, and love note from DH.
