DR Light Help

Here is what my DR furniture looks like:

{{!gwi}}

Tell me if either of these lights would work:

#1: Does it look cheap?

{{!gwi}}

or

#2

{{!gwi}}

or neither.

    I think either one would work.

    I like the first one better, but that's just me. I like some "downward light" onto an eating area.

    They both have elegant curves, just like your furniture.

    I'm struggling with lighting, too, so maybe check out my thread if you'd like to help me out with a vote. I like both of the lights. The first one is somewhat Art Deco and the second one somewhat Art Neuveau. They would both go, I think -- I am NOT a designer LOL -- but, in my under-educated opinion, the second one has a the ornate detailing that mimics your mirror best. Do you have art or fabric in the room?

    Of all those you show, I think I think #2 the best. I can't put my finger on why I don't care for the first one, the 3rd one has too much detail for me, the 4th one is too frou-frou, and the 5th one looks too contemporary. How about a simple bowl pendant, like the one below? If Les responds to your thread, she has an uncanny ability to pick the right fixture, and it's usually not one you yourself would consider.

    For what it's worth, I think #1 is the best choice. It has cleaner lines with just a few details, so people will focus on the furniture details instead. In other words, it doesn't detract from your furniture, it nicely compliments it.

    Of the ones you have posted, I think I would choose the second one of the second set of pix. The first two donâÂÂt feel special enough for your furnishings, the third one with the ball doesnâÂÂt grab me, and the last one feels too cold.

    Would you consider something like this? I think the warmth and style would be wonderful with your lovely furniture:

    Deeinohio, that was a very lovely thing you wrote. I appreciate your kind comment. Made my day!

    Thanks everyone; why is this so hard?

    Dee & Les: my table is 48"wide by 90"long; I love bowl pendants, but would it get "lost"? Also my room is 12x15 and only 8' ceilings.

    #2 is richer looking, and goes nicely with your furnishings.

    ok I will chime in here- I truly honestly think ALL the lights are REALLY nice- the one Les suggested is breathtaking.... so I would say either that one or the very first one you posted (where you said does it look cheap? no it doesn't)... simple and elegant but complements the furniture/mirror.I think I prefer the first one.

    I like the second one with your gorgeous mirror-(it carries the room, you lucky thing) you can't go wrong with any of the fixture choices-its a wonderful D.R. area, and I can just imagine a family gathering there-warm and beautiful! None look cheap. Lovely!
