What do you plan to have beside the range? That will top a 15" cabinet and you will have to pay more to have it trimmed or at least a front edge put on it. Then you have two small pieces of marble that will be there just to have pieces of marble. I'd rather have a single larger piece that could be surface for working dough, candy making or at least looking like it had a function.

I'm feeling your vision, but what would the purpose of the marble be? Believe me when I say that you will etch the bejeebers out of the marble next to a range (which I was fine with and I'm sure you'd be OK with).

Now, practicality aside, what will the rest of the counters be? You could have these trimmed to be inserts into a main counter (which would look cool with wood as the main), though I think that they'd be more useful with the 26" part going left/right instead of being trimmed to fit in wall to workway. They could also pose a cleaning nightmare. Dunno, it's a fun thing to think about though! :D

*Practicality jumping back in*: Do you have side tables that you could top with these pieces? You know, cut the marble down to more usable proportions for side/bedside tables?

I'm kind of leaning towards "not" getting them. They are cool, but I just don't know if I can use them.

Instead, I'm leaning towards saving up my pennies...and getting a walnut top for a dresser I just got from CL (their photo).
