Layout help for Kitchen & Fridge Please

Could you please help me decide where my Standard SxS 36" x 33 1/2" deep fridge can go in my kitchen layout? I need some advice so we can get going with the electrical and the rest of the redo. Tore out the kitchen to the studs (except for the sink area) last Oct. Due to several reasons, we are just getting back to it. All winter I have tried to decide which location would work better.

In the layout below, I have the fridge next to the doorway to the Living Room. I am not sure that it leaves me enough room between stove and fridge. My husband would prefer to put it at the bottom of the layout on the bathroom wall where I am currently showing the pantry and 30" cupboard.

I am concerned about putting it on the Bathroom wall, because it would stick out almost 9" further than the pantry with the door closed and when you would open the door it would be very close to the table. We could possibly recess it into the bathroom area about 10" which would make it about the same depth as the pantry. We can't recess it any further due to sink plumbing and venting in the walls.

That is a major traffic walk way from the front of the house to the back of the house. My husband & I park in the back so always come in that way, and our laundry and one of the girls bedroom is in the basement also.

If you can think of a better place for the fridge or any suggestions overall, I would greatly appreciate it. We have a 30" Electric range, so it can be moved if needed. Would be nice to have it on the outside wall, but can't figure out how. The sink is plumbed at the top, but could possibly be moved. If it would help, I don't think I would mind if it was not centered under the window. We are DIY, so need a little guidance.

My husband doesn't want to move any windows since we just replaced them and re-sided the house last year. Also, the interior wall that the stove is on is load bearing, and he doesn't want to mess with that either.

Thanks so much for any suggestions!

I'm no expert (I'm asking for help myself!), but I am pretty sure the fridge should not go on the bathroom wall. Besides the problems of that being a major traffic way, it is way too far from everything else (sink, stove, prep areas). I think where you have it in the plan above is better than that. And now I'll let the more savvy chime in. :)

Thanks katkatf for the confirmation! I am wondering if anyone else has ideas or comments? Your help would be greatly appreciated!

If I leave the fridge where it is, would it be better to have more space between the fridge and stove and less between the stove and the corner?
    Any suggestions would be welcome.

What about placing the frig in the upper left and corner closer to the sink. It would be easily accessible from the table and add to the natural flow of kitchen work.... frig, sink for prep to stove. You would then have awesome prep space on either side of the range.

Remodelfla - I thought about putting the frig there, but according to the specs on the frig, I need to have 14 inches between it and the wall to open it completely. That would only leave me about 12 inches to the sink base. Is that enough?
I am not worried about opening the frig fully to pull out the storage drawer and clean it, as I can pull the frig out when I do that, but what about the ice bin? How many inches do you think I need between the frig and the wall?
If I put the frig there, I will need to move the DW to the right of the sink. Do you think that would be a problem?
Thanks for your help and suggestion.

Have you thought about putting the range on the outside wall at the top of that drawing -- 24" from the left corner, then prep/baking space under the window, sink roughly where the range is drawn now?

I'm assuming you don't what to buy a new fridge now, but that is something that can be changed out later to go to counter depth or French door for more door clearance.

I don't know how you plan to use the pantry and cupboard, but you could look at making them 15-18" deep and opening up your traffic paths some more.

Thanks for the ideas lascatx. I think it would help a lot to make the pantry cupboards shallower in my traffic path. I had considered putting the range on the outside wall like you are suggesting, but doing a corner sink. I had not thought about moving the sink to my current range wall. It is something to think about. Thanks for the suggestions.
