Thank you all for the kind words. it is a lot of countertops space (mostly island) which I wanted. The perimeter always seems to get cluttered, so purposfully designed with less surface, just enough for appliance garage, drop zone, the sink and corner zones,and
additional landing spot for oven.

mpagmon, yes a total of three sinks, two in kitchen and one at the bar.
Today faucets and continued electrical/plumbing, cabinetry work. Then floors starting Monday....which will take three days to finish. Ugh!
We actually have guests tomorrow evening (soccer dads), DH hosts them at few times a year -- grilling on the patio, bourbon, beer, cigars (you know, guy stuff!)

clarygrace--gorgeous!!! Yay for 3 sinks. That's what we are doing too. I get a lot of this from people:

"Three sinks? Why?"

They just don't understand zones....

We're just about at the same stage...the last couple of weeks until we are done and I am so excited to start using this space for family and friends!

Beautiful countertops! Also, what is the floor tile? It looks very similar to some stone I put in my home, but I'm wondering if it's the same or something different.

Pricklypearcactus, the floor tile is a granite tile, like paradiso, which is on the bar countertop, but with more dark grey tones and some brown tones; it was here when we purchased the home. I like it because it's soo easy to clean. We have a gabbeh persian rug down in the seating area and it makes it much warmer and cozy...the room is about 16' x 20', so it's a lot of tile.
