We have a Pacific Sales Appliances outlet opening close to our home.

Has anyone had experience with it? Can anyone recommend?

Thank you

Pacific Sales is now owned by Best Buy. They have a fairly broad variety of appliances. You might be able to get a good deal at the outlet. With that kind of big company, you should be safe enough, but be very sure you understand exactly what you're getting, what the warranty is, etc. Don't rely on the sales help for your research.

I am buying my appliances through Pacific Sales. They gave me the best price anywhere (lower than marked on the floor where mfg'r allows) and provide free delivery and hauling away of old appliances. They also let me order to get in before a price increase, even though I told them it would be months before I was ready to take delivery. They have large warehouses and can hold indefinitely. All I've paid so far is a deposit (about 20%), and I can still change out any appliance I want to a different one. My salesman is also very experienced, knowledgeable, and willing to take time explaining things to me. I've called to ask him questions about 3 times, and gone in once, and he still gives me the time I need.

I had wanted to buy from a local company, but they couldn't match the price, charge for delivery, and couldn't hold the appliances a long time (so I would have been hit by a mfg'r price increase, costing me even more money).

plllog, is this "now" recent? I know Pacific Sales is inside of Best Buy but I was told at the new year that they were a separate company with a "special" relationship, not owned by BB. I can't really evaluated the validity of that claim, and don't know whether it was once true but is no longer. However, it was my understanding that they were separate companies, fwiw...

Nope. The "now" is not what I'd call recent. It happened sometime in the last ten years and I think I read it in the business papers.

Googling turns up a number of references (looks like a press release) that say: Pacific was founded in Torrance 50 years ago, and sold in 2006 to Best Buy.

Quote from the Pacific Sales website: In 2006, Pacific Sales joined the Best Buy family of companies.

Wikipedia lists Pacific Sales as a "subsidiary" of Best Buy, and: When the company was purchased by Best Buy, the decision was made to keep the brand and company intact, unlike other companies such as Magnolia who was absorbed into the Best Buy brand.

I have bought numerous appliances and plumbing fixtures from Pacific Sales and have always had a great experience. Some salespeople are better than others, but their prices are very competitive.
