Kitchen cabs are being installed!

They are not done yet. Still have to adjust the drawers and doors. Still have to install the over the fridge cab. Pictures are not the best either. Wasn't able to take pictures until after I got home from work (installed while I was at work). So, most were taken about 8:00 last night. Yes, the installer worked very late. Not the best light for this. Will take new ones next week once the fridge cab is in.

Contractor is very picky and there may be a problem with the can light being too close to the fridge cabinet crown moulding. He will be by on Monday to figure out what to do.

So far, the cabs are beautiful (well at least I think so). I am still adjusting to how different the kitchen looks. It looks so tiny (not that it was big before!). Can't wait to see it all together with the granite and the flooring. Ignore the pink, awful flooring. It is outta here!

Looking straight into kitchen

Black sink cab (espresso stain--others are natural maple)

Looking at range wall

Looking at micro over the counter and fridge wall--fridge cab not installed yet

granite--yellow river

Flooring will be a walnut wood laminate (sorry, couldn't afford the real thing :(

YOU are the one with my favorite granite ever! Love your cabs, both the wood and style. We have very similar taste.

Ah, thank you all for the nice comments. I am very excited and finally feel like it is starting to be real and may get finished in the future. It is so hard being without a kitchen. I am going on week 4. For those of you who do it for months on end, I don't know how you do it. My hat is off to you.

Here is a picture of the flooring. Ignore how the granite looks. DB (Darling Boyfriend) decided to break the sample into three pieces and I gorrilla glued it back together. So you see some of the glue (yellow part) dribbling out of the granite. It decided to do that after I was done watching it so it wouldn't!

Everything is beautiful, can't wait to see it all come together. Love the wood floor.
LOL to the Gorilla Glue, that stuff is awful.

Thank you all! I am finally getting used to having cabs again in my kitchen space. I thought the space looked tiny with the original cabs gone. It looks even smaller with them back in and it is pretty much the same footprint! I just have a small kitchen but it is perfect size for me.

I am finally feeling like the train is moving through the tunnel and I might begin to see the light at the end of it someday soon.

Ah, the gorilla glue story. I tried putting the granite back together that DB (Dear Boyfriend) had let it break into three different pieces. I watched that thing like a hawk for about an hour and kept cleaning it so no glue showed through to ruin the color/grain of the granite as it is my only sample. When I thought it was finally set, I put a rubber band around it to just insure that it would stay together and went to bed. Next morning. I have glue all over the place, it has set hard and is never coming off. Lesson learned.

Wow, I love those floors. Is it a mixture of woods or just different stain colors?

Beautiful cabs! Love the espresso stain! That's a really nice contrast! Seeing everything come together is the best feeling in the world , isn't it?! I can tell it's going to be really beautiful! Keep posting pics!

Laurie, that is just how the walnut "wood" comes. The flooring is wood laminate. Lots of variation. Hope it isn't too much variation.

That's laminate! I would have never guessed that. What brand is it? With the color of cabinets you have, I don't think it will be too much.

It is made by Armstrong. 25 year warrenty. I forget the exact name but it is a black walnut. I was deciding between that and an Italian walnut which had more red in it.

I had originally decided on Amendiom engineered wood and Oro Travertine for my entry way. Then Lowe's gave me a quote three times higher than their original (unfortunately verbal) quote. Had to go back to square one in one day and choose something different. I am extending it out to my living/dining room area, so I couldn't afford the engineered wood. I was heartbroken. It took me forever to choose the flooring. I loved the Amendiom wood. What depth it had. It was gorgeous. What a difference in looks between the engineered wood and the laminate. It still makes me wince.

Couldn't afford to do the Travertine either, so I am getting tile. I am sick about that as well. However, the $ will only go so far and that is it!

Tile in the entry way will be installed this week! Flooring in kitchen and dining room/living room will be installed next week!

UGH! So, I am busy moving dirty kitchen items back into my dirty, still under construction kitchen, so I can stuff everything that is in my living/dining room area into the one bedroom I have left. Of course it too has kitchen things in it as well. I think this is worse than moving. At least when you move, you tend to do things only once, not over and over and over again.

This too shall pass, this too shall pass, this too....

Truly gorgeous! I love the very clean, macho, honest look of your cabs and can't wait to see that beautiful (feminine, devious?) granite installed - they play off each other so well! (oh help, now I'm anthropomorphizing kitchen components)

Well, Blue--I never quite thought about it like that.....brings a whole new meaning to my kitchen. Hmmmmmmm. This is leaving definite impressions in my mind on what can be done in the kitchen!

mustbenuts, Any pics of your finished kitchen? I can't wait to see it finished with that beautiful laminate that looks so real.
