Would you be recessing the frig into that wall? It looks like the DW would bang into the side of the frig when you tried to open it if you put the frig over there. Plus if it's a 30" range and a 36" frig, it wouldn't fit anyway.

Could you post a sketch of the space with dimensions? It would be easier to help if we had an overhead layout. It doesn't have to be a fancy CAD rendering - just a sketch on graph paper or even in paint. As long as there are dimensions people here should be able to help.

Good point regarding the frig needing to be recessed. I'll look into that. I'll post a sketch with exact dimensions shortly.

It's the hood that's not to code? Or the hood plus the wall cabinet beside it?

I'd get a new wall mounted hood instead of the under-a-cabinet hood and take down the over-the-ref cabinet that is over the range...

I think it's the fact that the oven is open on one side. I think it has to have countertop on each side or at least be enclosed by a wall.

I think I might move the dishwasher to the left of the sink, still recess the fridge where the oven is and move the oven to the center of the other wall where the fridge is.

I may get stainless appliances, I'm painting the cabinets white and putting in a gray countertop and wood floors.
