I've been looking at these as well so am curious as to any answers. Do you happen to know what they mean by "pre rinse"? I'm not sure I understand why you would need the faucet to extend beyond the sink? This whole faucet thing is very confusing.

I assume pre-rinse comes from the stage in commercial dishwashing where you rinse off all the food before running it through the huge sterilizer. It requires a nice strong spray to jet everything off the plates.

I was thinking to get one that extends beyond the sink because this is for my prep sink which is in my main prep area not far from the cookstove, and it could double as a potfiller at need. I could also get a regular pullout style, but am rather taken by the option of having both rinse head and regular faucet head on one stem.
