Disjointed Basement

Our basement is finished, but i'd like to do some updates and attempt to tie everything together better. I finished out this home theater, but the rest of the basement is pretty standard. Need to remove the main room carpet and replace the whole basement flooring (except theater) with a different tile, or maybe wood? Wood like to also put in a fireplace. But overall would like to turn the rest of the basement into a "dream" basement. Any direction? Probably need to work with a pro to design, i can do the work.

This is a great basement and the quality shows. Perhaps adding some black in the main room with the ping pong table would held tie the entire area together.

Media room looks great! Just bring some of those touches out to the other area. I'd have some of that carpet bound for an area rug in the TV/FP area which looks planned for there where the ping pong table is. Would like to see some paint or even some striking wallpaper on the back walls of the built-in shelves. Can you light them? Have you considered painting all the white doors black for some drama? I don't care for the valance over the roman blind, but would do romans throughout in an exciting print fabric (maybe in the same theme as the wallpapered bookshelf back. Line and inner line them for privacy, sound proofing and insulation. Post your final outcome!

A small update, working on painting doors black, plus got the built-in counter tops black. I like the idea of putting something on the back wall of built in but wondered if gray would be best since we now have a lot of black and khaki? Thoughts? Also at some point we are going to remove the main room carpet and re-tile the entire main areas. We can't match the tile that is already there (plus not crazy about it) so we would need to re-do all.

    Thanks for all input.

Nice basement. I'm a fan of black doors too. Your pics have me thinking about going to a lighter color carpet (currently chocolate brown)
. Your theatre room is EPIC!!!

We are ready to replace all the flooring in this basement, both carpet and tile and put something through the whole basement. Had seen a floor at a hotel that looked almost like a bamboo flooring type but seemed to be tile. Anyone used or seen something like this that would be a good fit?

What is your accent color going to be? That is what I'd go with inside the shelves.

If you are still looking for that type of tile you could try this emser strands or go to the daltile website and look at their porcelain tiles. You will see similar to your photo

I really am leaning toward putting a fireplace in this basement in between the built-ins (picture in first post) Anyone have feedback on ventless fireplaces in basements or some solution for this wall? Going to put an inset TV where the blue tape is and it just looks like it needs something below it.

    Thanks

A great way to modernize a space is to add layers to the lighting. Putting LED under cabinet strip lighting is both functional and decorative. There is also an opportunity for cove lighting in this space. Color changing LED strip lighting can be controlled with our LinkUp remote or from an app on your smart phone. This custom installation would look great inside your theater or above the game table!

We offer complimentary design services, if you are interested in installing LEDs give us a call (888) 880-1880
