Cool hooks?

Ok, maybe I'm taking TKO to a whole new level here, but I'm driving myself mad and I am certain that a few of you probably have just the answer for me. At least I hope so!

The light fixture over my table isn't centered on the table. Because of the slope of our roof, it just wasn't feasible for us to move it, so I plan to swag the fixture over on a hook. Not ideal, but I figured it wasn't a big problem.

Well, I never imagined it would be so darn difficult to find a hook that wasn't shiny brass or Victorian looking.

All my hardware and light fixtures are ORB and I've tried to stick to pretty clean lines. Anyone know where I can get my hands on a hook that would fit that description?

Thanks!

now that's a good one! I did a quick check online and came up with nada...You might have to buy a brass or chrome one and spray paint it oil rubbed bronze...and maybe you'll find more uses for the spray paint...ya never know!!! I just laquered a ceiling mount fixture from our old kitchen and am re-using it in the laundry room.

    Cheers!

Do you think you could take a robe hook or coat hook and make it work?

If your ceiling is white why not use a white hook? Or even a clear one?

Buy a plain hook and a can of ORB spray paint. That's what we did to achieve a brushed nickel look on a wood ceiling.

Is it possible that the light manufacturer has the part which holds the lamp to pole? Look at lamp parts for ceiling hooks. Big box stores do have catalogs you can
browse through. Make them dig one out or perhaps a lamp store. I did a search on pot rack hangers, but a bit too many to go through.

Keeping it simple would be buying a plain hook and use rub/buff on it in orb, then seal. Perhaps adding a plain back plate too (drawer knob plate) for a finished look.

I was thinking the same thing. I ordered extra chain for my chandelier from the manufacturer. I know they carry ORB but not sure if they have the hook (hubbardton forge)
    Also check Baldwin Brass
    Good luck

    huh?
I have some very simple hooks from Lowe's that are ORB.
Perhaps it's all being made way to complicated?
Please forgive the obvious, because I myself hate obvious questions, but have you looked outside the lighting department in closets, or cupboard accessories, or anything like that?

Short of that? Find one you like and spray it. It's not like you're ever going to touch it again.

    Beautiful cabinets, BTW.

clarygrace - looks like that's what I might have to do. Nice re-purposing!

remodelfla - good idea - maybe? I'll have to think outside the box a little. I can just see myself at the store looking at the hooks with my head turned 90 degrees. :)

kaijutokusatsu - that might be my next step. thanks.

    owls4me - Thanks!

emagineer - I hadn't thought about that. I'll check that out. Thanks. I like the idea of adding a small backplate to beef it up. I guess that's my biggest obstacle, I'm trying to find something a little more special that will keep in the style of what's on the light fixture already.

a2gemini - Thanks. I tried Baldwin Brass. I'll check hubbardton forge too.

CEFreeman - Yes, I've tried 4 places in Lowes and HD. To include the hardware sections and garden supply thanks to the ideas from a few of the sales people. Maybe it's because we are in a smaller town, but I don't think so as I can't really find what I'm looking for online either.

I have found some pretty hooks with backplates on etsy and ebay that are wrought iron. My ORB is mostly black, maybe you wouldn't really notice the different finish that much?

Ok- this is totally crazy since I had the same problem today! We finally put a swag in my light fixture to center it over the table. I couldn't find a simple brushed nickel hook to match. I ended up using a very small stainless hook and you can barely see it. I will take a pic tomorrow since its too late now. It turns out you don't need much to hold it up. The tiny hook I used was for up to 45 pounds. My fixture weighs about 20.
