Ticor sinks

Hello, I'm interested in buying a Ticor S105-8 sink and know about Galaxy Tool supply. I was wondering if anyone has purchased from either Main Faucet.com or Buy-Sink.com? They are all priced at $250, $245 and $225 in that order with the necessary accessories. Any history with the second 2 companies? Thanks.

    Hello,

I've done a bit of sink swapping myself and to be completely honest with you, I've had the worst luck Galaxy Tool Supply. I ordered the S405D model which is very similar to the S105-8. Basically, the sink I ordered came with a dent in it. I realize that if it was damaged during shipping, then it's not their fault, but to get someone to send me a box to return it so they can send me a new one, took me over 3 hours on the phone with them. On top of that, the employees were not very knowledgeable and frankly are just rude. To make a long story short, I finally received another sink from them, and it too was dented. I decided go somewhere else to look for sinks at this point and when I returned the sink for good, I got charged a 10% restocking fee. Maybe it was just a bad day for them, but thanks to them, I did find my sink cheaper. My advice would be to go somewhere else unless youÂre a risk taker.

Welcome to the Forum JerJer19...I see you just registered today. Interesting first post.

Welcome to you as well Stafford410...I see you also just registered today.

To Stafford410 and others, unlike JerJer19's experience, the majority of us that have used GalaxyToolSupply have had a great experience...polite and quick. Granted, I had no problems with my S405D (no dents), but they were very polite to talk to and their shipping was very quick.

I have no experiences with the other two sites, but I do know GTS was one of the better experiences I've had online as well as had in the remodel overall.

I had great experience with Galaxy Tool. Ordered it and before I knew it FedEx was at the door with it and it was in perfect condition. Good, fast and polite service for me.

I just wanted to put in another good word for Galaxy Tool. The first sink they shipped us was bent on a corner (more Fed Ex's fault than theirs, given the damage to the box the sink was in). I called and told them and also said I didn't like the sink (my fault, not theirs) and wanted to return it for a different model. They shipped the new sink and had Fed Ex come and pick up the old one. I had the new sink the next day and got rid of the old one the day after, with no lag in crediting me for the difference in price and no restocking fee. Everyone I talked to was polite, helpful and quick.

I too had zero issues with Galaxy. In fact, when my sink was ordered, it came with no grid that was supposed to be included. I called and they said they were on back order and when the grid comes in, I would automatically get one shipped to me. I was skeptical cause it's a RARE company that has it's' act together enough to actually follow through on things like this without being pestered. About 2 months later, with no prompting (cause I'd gotten busy in the remodel and honestly forgot all about it), my sink grid came. I was impressed - a company that keeps it word and manages to keep track of the small details with follow through! And the sink is great.

I, too, am shopping for a stainless sink and considering Ticor. I have been online for the past hour searching for reviews of their sinks. A person called "jerjer19" has posted on several sites with his exact same words as here (except for one site where he claimed it was a granite sink that arrived chipped!) So I am also skeptical about someone posting here for the first time just to criticize an item.

I need to purchase a sink fairly fast as we have already put 50% down and they will be templating in probably 2 weeks. I have ordered a faucet, but keep dragging my heels about the sink. I am going to post my questions/concerns in another thread, but just wanted to comment on the negative review given here.

Love my Ticor sink. No better sink for the $$, and likely no better sink for more $$. No problems with Galaxy. I also saw Ticor on Overstocks FWIW.

This is another "semi" negative review on Ticor. Be aware that they do not have the most responsive customer service department. Similar to needssometips08 I have been waiting almost 2 1/2 months for my backordered grids. Being neurotic to a fault, I have emailed them on two separate occasions but my emails go unanswered. I did finally reach someone almost two weeks ago by telephone and was told that the grids are coming in the next day or so. I am still waiting. However, I must say, (although it is still in the box waiting installation), that the sink seems like a very nice sink for the price. I will let you know if and when I receive my grids. Just wish that I had been told about the back ordered item at the time the order was placed. I believe that would have been the approriate way to handle this issue, and it is the way other companies do business.

Do any of you have the zero radius sinks and if so, are they a a pain to clean?

Based on the positive reviews in prior discussions here about Ticor sinks, I ordered the Ticor S205 today from Galaxy Tool Supply. I paid $209. The sinks were in stock and ordering was easy.

I just wanted to chime in with more praise for Galaxy Tool Supply. I bought two Ticor sinks from them (the S112 for my main sink and the S805 for my prep sink). Both sinks arrived in two days with no problems whatsoever. Two and a half years later, I still love them, and I LOVE the grids that come with them.

Dealing with Galaxy was the easiest part of my entire remodel! My GC had never heard of Ticor or Galaxy before, but he was so impressed with the quality, price, and shipping speed, he recommends them both to other clients.

Oh, and Jerjer19, if you are going to trash a company all over the Internet, you might want to come up with one story and stick with it. From the many sites I've seen your comments on, it would appear you ordered a stainless sink and a ceramic sink from Galaxy, and both came damaged. With those different sinks, you spent from one to three hours on the phone with them. You sent one back, but another is collecting dust in your garage. Amazingly, you had an identical terrible experience with IPT Sink Company in Kennesaw, GA. Such horrible luck--what are the chances??

I ordered my ss sink from Ticor 2 years ago based on the reviews I read about here. I was amazed at the quality and the price. My experience with Ticor was very good and I still am very happy with my kitchen sink.
