Hi,

I don't have an answer for you but my granite fabricator offered me one of the Artisan sinks very very cheap. When I asked around, no one ever heard of them. So I went with an Elkay. I'll be curious to read some comments.

According to the current issue of Consumer Reports Kitchen Planning and Bath Guide, sink manufacturer isn't as important as the material itself.

They found that the gauge of a stainless sink doesn't matter. They tested 18 to 23 gauge. All resisted dents, stains, scratches and heat. All dampened noise similarly.

In the overall scoring for stain and scratch resistance, starting with highest rating, the materials were rated enamel on cast iron, enamel on steel, stainless steel, solid surface, and acrylic.

Composite stone sinks have not yet been rated by CR.

P.S. I highly recommend getting the CR Guide. It has been very helpful to me in making choices of products.
