imrainy- how about a pic of your BS in the kitchen too? I recognize the name, but have forgotten your kitchen.

My kitchen is hard to photo because it's too narrow to get very far away from things. Then, too, that spot is difficult because it's hard to balance the light coming from the window.

Here it is looking ever so slightly more "lived in". =o

Mostly, it was just that there's a possibility that eluded me and might be there for others to consider as well.

We're doing our kitchen window sills out of soapstone tiles that are the same type of stone as our counters (Beleza from Dorado Soapstone; they sell the slabs and tiles in various sizes; the tiles are about 1/2 inch thick, while the slabs are 3 cm). I'm so looking forward to having window sills that I can put plants on without worrying about water damage. Of course, the sills are never going to get installed if I can't decide on a backsplash, but that's another post!

Yes. I love the look but the utility is what is so terrific. I am still blessing my contractor for thinking of it. He also worked the layout to use every one of the expensive glass focal tiles that I overbought for the back splash. ;>
