I bought the expandable bamboo utensil containers at BB&B for my 30" drawers and they work really well. Just a thought.

I bought the highly recommended Lee Valley Hardware dividers that you clip into your drawer and divide with the 3x24x1/4" pieces of wood you get at the hardware store. Cut them to length and design your own.

I bought this for my old smaller drawer

When it was time to put the larger drawer together, I used it again because I really like it. The plan is to use the Lee Valley Hardware dividers for the rest of the drawer, but keep the silverware in this.

I had someone build dividers that were the same height as the drawer sides. You can fit a lot more in a drawer with high sided dividers.

For my 36" drawer under the cooktop, I got 3 expandable bamboo dividers at Tuesday Morning, and I also put a knife block in there. I have the utensils separated by broad categories of my own devising - cooktop, baking, prep, and cutting or opening things. I can grab everything very quickly, although it is not as beautifully organized as some drawers I've seen on here.

I used the ones from Ikea for my silverware drawers and love the. I can fit 2 of them in that drawer. My sister has them also and that's where I first saw them. For my utensils I bought the Copco ones as linked above. They come in many sizes and you can fill your whole drawer space.

I have one similar to the Copco one now, but I'm liking the wooden dividers from Lee Valley (I like that they come taller).

I tried dividers, expandable items, and a few others - I ended up going with Made Right (I think that is the name) containers that GrumpyDave also used.

I had the measurements and sat in BBB putting together the jigsaw puzzle!

I LOVE this thing. Got it at container store. Available in different widths, so you could use it in part of your drawer for knives.
