I am planning a pantry closet that is 36w x 24d. Any suggestions for what type of lighting to use and where it should be mounted?

When I went to look at undercabinet lighting, I saw a glass front cabinet that had strip lights running vertically on each side, on the front edge of the cabinet. It was hidden by the door frame. I thought that would work well to avoid shadows with the shelving in my pantry. Has anyone done that in their upper cabinets or pantry space?
