I think the standard is to have one pull per drawer. Usually mounted in the center. I suppose you could mount
one on the left and one on the right but its a personal preference thing.

Knobs usually go on doors.

I would suggest a larger pull for drawers 30" or larger. My pulls are about the same size - I ordered enough for 2 on the larger drawers, but didn't like it. Luckily I decided that before they had drilled the holes! I reordered a larger size pull (about 6") from the same "family" of pulls. Much better! Luckily I could return the pulls without a restocking fee. You can mock up your drawer pulls by cutting a piece of blue tape and see how you like it.

I used knobs on my cabinets and pulls on my drawers. Any drawer 30" or larger had two pulls. It looked more balanced that way rather than having one in the middle of a wide drawer.

thanks. ok. you got me thinkin! so...I have one cabinet that's 34". all the other drawers are getting 3 3/4" pulls and now i'm thinking that the 2 drawer pot drawer cabinet (34") should have 2 pulls per drawer - but i'm upgrading them to the Pull 5 1/16" Centers -

does that seem right? and do you think the 3 3/4" pulls are big enough for the 24" and 18" drawers?

There really are no rules on this. With today's glides, anything goes. You don't need a longer pull or two pulls to open a drawer anymore. And you can use pulls or knobs on drawers or cabs. Use what you like. Anything will work.

Funny enough just had this conversation yesterday with my KD. What I was told was that if I am picking pulls that are less than 4" that whereever I have a drawer that is 27" or more I should put two pulls. Or pick pulls for those drawers that are larger than 4". That being said, I believe you have to live in your kitchen and you should do what looks best to you.

Not that this is likely to help, but I ended up with two on all my large drawers, based primarily on the fact I have two small drawers at the top of the stack, so wanted to line them up. I have pulls on the perimeter and knobs on the island. There is no issue with opening the big drawers (my largest is 31") with one off-center knob. As lowspark said, the glides are so good balance is a non-issue.

OK, so just for reference, I have multiple drawers which are 27" to 33". All of them have one 3" pull. This includes the drawers into which I've placed my extra heavy Le Creuset casseroles + lots of other stuff. Been livin' that way since Nov 04. All are working well.

So... is your KD recommending this because she feels the drawers can't handle the smaller or fewer pulls? If so, I'd question her on the quality of the slides her company is providing. Chances are, she's using old standards.

Or is she speaking aesthetically? In which case my answer again is to do what YOU like. I much prefer one pull on my drawers. That's not to say I think two pulls are ugly or anything, I've seen some gorgeous kitchens with two pulls. But my preference for MY kitchen is one. I'm purdy happy that way. So I don't want a KD to tell me what s/he thinks looks better and say, "this is the right way".

I'm pretty sure they were talking aesthetically - showed me lots of pictures of the kitchens that way that they had recently done. I know it's good quality - custom cabinets and all the bells and whistles (sigh...and cost that goes with them). I can't see actually needing to use both hands to open the drawers and would be unhappy if that was the case with any of the drawers - usually already have something in the other hand!
