Which wood type for the cabinets...Oak?

I really like the counter choice, and prefer the Athens Gray flooring, because the other looks like it introduces too many other colors...But that's hard to determine without seeing the products in person.

Your floors, counters, and walls will have strong color to them. If you have the natural finish on the cabinets, there will be quite a contrast. That's good if you want it. For a mission look, I prefer a bit of a stain on oak or a little bit darker wood (like maybe cherry) to be a softer, less visually striking combination, rather than have the contrast, but I don't know how 'mission' you want to go and the amount of contrast is a personal preference thing.

All in all, it seems like your choices are fine and would look wonderful together.

Thank you! I was going to do the cabinets in a natural maple. As for style, I just like the shaker/mission cabinets, but wasn't necessarily going for the actual mission style in the kitchen.

I'll think about the amount of contrast and will also take a look at the blogspot.
