I was told that chandeliers are 30" from table top to bottom of fixture which is what I have. My pendants hang 24" from the ceiling, but we are taller and we didn't want them to obstruct our view. I wouldn't hang the pendants any lower than I would a chandelier. I am assuming you are dealing with 8' ceilings as we are. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for your help! Yes, forgot to say we have eight foot ceilings. I've noticed that some people here have hung their pendants 24" from ceiling, but that seemed just a little high, so we thought 27" would be OK. Sounds like I'm in the ballpark anyway.

I'll also tell my GC to put my chandelier 30" from the table top to the bottom of the fixture, NOT 30" from the ceiling like I thought orginally.

Wow, I have to make this decision this week, as well.

Our pendants can only be adjusted in 9" increments. I have to decide between 18" or 27" from the ceiling. We have 8' ceilings and we are both 5'5".

I am leaning towards 27". I think 18" will be too high.
