Beautiful! My son gave me a start from his last year and my plant is healthy and thriving but no sign of buds yet. Do you know how much time it takes before it will bloom? My son said his always blooms at Christmas but hasn't any buds yet.

Very pretty! I was expecting you to say "Every Thanksgiving, without fail.....I forget to thaw the turkey." Because that's what I did and now I'm trying to thaw it in the sink for tomorrow.

. . . the lovely predictability of nature.

I agree! My Christmas cactus has pink buds and is a few weeks away from blooming.

Thanks for sharing that lovely bit of Mother Natures indoor fall beauty. It's cold, wet & dreary here in the PNW and the gorgeous leaves are all in the streets, so all is gray. I needed to see something pretty!

Pretty! My T'day cactus is blooming like crazy too. The beauty of real plants, eh?

    It's beautiful!

I have an Easter Cactus. The first year it bloomed, I'd had it for years, I thought one of the kids had thrown a small toy in the plant. Shock and joy, it was blooming!

Mine too--a pale icy pink. Lovely!

That is one beautiful plant. I just picked up a Christmas Cactus this past weekend. If mine looks anything like yours this time next year, I will be a very happy camper.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I've had a pink one for about 15 years - usually blooms the first week of December, though it's early this year. My other is red and it's currently in the closet along with 2 smaller white ones. I'm hoping to keep them from blooming until closer to Christmas, but I noticed today the white one had one flower blooming. I think I left them outside too long this year.

Christmas cactii are my favorite part of the season. Thanks for sharing yours.

Lovely!!! Mine blooms every year right around Christmas Day. It's the pale pink one, though, not the brilliant, pretty, deeper pink like yours.
    Happy Thanksgiving All!

Mine is white and I was amazed at the amount of blooms on it! They are an easy plant to grow but a hard plant to make bloom! They need the right amount of cool and dark! When it works, you have a beautiful show like yours!

Gorgeous! Sadly, I accidentally froze mine before I moved here.

I have a scarlet Christmas Cactus. But it celebrates Christmas in July.

It's survived frost, me watering it with a glass of water and dishwashing liquid, and drought-by-neglect. This little bugger is tough and has survived me.

I have a friend who has a whole sun porch of only these cacti. They are stunning and bloom at all different times of the year.

Thank you for reminding me of the beauty that happens despite the crap that goes on with the human side of nature.
