Hi amac...

Well.....My old kitchen had an uncentered sink underneath a window with a faucet centered over the sink. I never even noticed it being strange until I started getting bids from contractors for my remodel. They were quick to say that they would center it under the window..which they did.

But here's a photo of my messy old kitchen...excuse it please..it looks much better now.

My sink is not centered under the pass-thru window. Other than mine being a pass-through, rather than a garden window, sounds like we have a simular set up. DW to Left, garbage to right. Also, the left aspect of the window and left edge of sink line up. My faucet is centered over the basin aspect of my sink (Kohler stages). It concerned me when I planned it that way -- looks great, nobody even mentions it being not centered! I posted some pictures on the pass thru thread a couple days ago -- if you scroll down you'll see my off-center sink.

Form is obviously very important to you...more important than function. Because of this, I think you may be unhappy if the sink is not centered.

Normally, I'd say "you'll get used to it", but I'm not sure you will. How is everything else in your home? Do you have anything else that's "off center"? If so, does it bother you? If you do and it doesn't bother you, you might be able to get used to it... However, if you do and it bothers you OR you don't have anything else off center (i.e., everything is centered or symmetrical), then you may have a difficult time adjusting to an off-center sink.

I know I'm not answering your question definitely, but I don't know enough about you to tell you definitely "yes" or "no". Everyone is different.

One layout question...is the DW on the side of the sink that has the range/cooktop? If so, it will be in the way of prepping...I suggest the DW be moved to the other side of the sink (switch it w/the trash pullout).

Prep Zones usually end up being b/w the range and a water source...that means it will be b/w your sink & range, so a DW on that side will be in the way. Besides, it's important to have the trash pullout closer to the Prep and Cooking Zones...even more important than having it near the Cleanup Zone.

can you post pictures? From the description you've given, I'm sorry to say that I think it would be weird. I like a symmetrical and lined up look. Especially with it only a few inches off, it may look more like a mistake.

My SIL is an architect and she never centers sinks as that leaves you looking right at the center stile. Our solution was to just go with fixed glass for this window, especially since we have a nice view to look at.
