Hi Scarlett - we have the two hob Diva induction unit. It probably falls between those two price points. We love it!

Eliz

No experience, we are searching also... To add to the options, I saw an inexpensive Summit unit on AJ Madison site; I was also wondering about their performance.
I like the Miele concept of modules, are there other module systems? I like the idea of an induction, wok, and griddle unit, together as one.
Eliz, are you using your unit daily? BTW, your kitchen is fabulous!
Scarlett, do you have a gas range that you are supplementing?

Hi want2be: thanks for the compliment! I do use the induction quite frequently, especially in the morning. Boiling water for tea, making slow cooked oatmeal and omelettes are three things I always do on the induction. It's also great for simmering soups and stews.

HTH,
Eliz

Scarlett, the Diva website says they have demo units at 25% off MSRP, with warranty. You have to call for availability. I will check that out.
Thanks Eliz.

It's amazingly difficult to get info about the Summit units--theinductionsite just ignores them, and Summit doesn't respond to queries except by phone and then their sales people don't seem to know much about them.

theinductionsite does have a review/info for the ramblewood, though.

qualitymatters.com has the best price on summit. I have no idea of how reputable they are as a dealer. Diva is very nice, but very expensive in comparison. I suspect that ramblewood/summit probably don't have the power that diva does.

You might also consider Cooktek. I have a 3500W wok style drop-in unit intended to be installed into a counter, but they make several other designs and power levels. Last I looked, the prices were in the $800 - $1200 range.
