does anyone know this rug?

I saw this in a store and I liked it a lot (looks much better in person than this awful cellphone picture). I would like to see if I could find it online at a better price. Don't know where to start.

I didn't think to look around for a name or some id.

    Try Nourison Somerset ST63-MTC

I'm ashamed to say I was OCD w/ rug shopping last year and could probably name of the manufacturer of any rug on site. I think this is it. Hope my useless knowledge can help someone! :)

Here is a link that might be useful: Beverly Rug Co. Noble Multi/Coffee

I actually got a hand knotted Jaipur from their Ankar collection via Overstock, and a 10 x 14 Jaipur from another collection that escapes me. Nick and paylessrugs.com beat every online price I came across by far on the 10 x 14. I would go back to him in a heartbeat if I were getting another rug. I'm getting seagrass for the remaining areas. Best of luck and I'm glad I could be of help! :)

well, I went back to the store to bring home the 5x8 as a sample to try it out. How interesting. The name on it says it is Kaz Monte Carlo II.

The picture of it I found on the web is horrible. It doesn't look like the real rug that I have.

But anyhow, are rugs like wallpaper and mattresses, where millions of different names float around the same item to confuse consumers? Or do the manufacturers copy patterns?

This is the 5x8 Monte Carlo in my house:

This is the Monte Carlo on some dealer website (who says it is discontinued):

The N. Somerset is much closer or the same:

As to the rug I have home, whatever it is, it is really weird that it shows color so differnetly based on the sheen and the light. From one side of the room it is dark, the other it is light. That's not normal is it?

Also, there are ripple marks from it being rolled in my car for the day. Is that normal (or the sign of a cheap thin rug)?. Will they relax and go away?

I saw that rug for sale recently at Tuesday Morning and I've also seen it on Overstock. The rug doesn't look to have a thick pile so you may want to consider using a rug pad if you opt for the rug. I think the nap that you see when looking at the rug from different directions is normal.

I don't know what's normal for machine made rugs, but it's definitely normal for my handmade orientals.

What about size? I have been looking for a 6x9 which is hard to find, so I was settled on an 8x10. But is the 5x8 sample really too small?

I thought it would look worse than it does. What do you think?

I also saw it at Tuesday Morning recently. They have a ton of Nourison rugs! Whatever the name, I think it looks really pretty in your home!

I think you need the larger size. Beautiful rug. I've seen it in person and love it.

I have a runner that the material is viscose and it has a sheen. Looks lighter/darker depending on which angle you are looking or if you were to run your hand over it and move the knap (sp?)...

That pattern/design looks nice, but I also think you need the larger rug. But at least you were able to see how it will look in your space.

Definitely the larger size. It looks great in your room

I think the Somerset is lovely, but it looks to me to have green in it. I don't see green in the one on your floor.

I think you need the bigger rug, and when you get it, I'd turn it so the 10' long side runs parallel with your fireplace.

Well I decided I didn't like that viscose material on the Monte Carlo. Too shiny and too thin and skimpy looking. Also, the larger size is actually 8x11 not even 8x10, so I really think it is not the right rug for me. I haven't found the Somerset in person and I have concluded that I can't buy a rug online without seeing it in person.

So I hit the stores again today and found something TOTALLY different. I originally did not want a traditional rug in the first place. So the MOnte Carlo was a detour from what I was really looking for. I really wanted something "transitional", simple, neutral, conservative, slightly modern but not busy or dramatic.

So now I am trying out this one. The colors are absolutely great with my chair, sofa and walls, but I do think it looks a little off next to the wood floor. I am a bit concerned that the brightness of the floor makes the rug a bit drab. Although I am noticing these pictures make the wood floor look quite orange. They really aren't. Photographer, I'm not!! LOL

It comes in a 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 which I think is a perfect size for the room and my budget!

What do you think of this one?
