deck photoshopping

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone could do some photo shopping of my deck? It was just ruined by a 100ft tree falling on it during the Hurricane Sandy storm, but we feel so lucky no one was hurt.

Here are a couple of pictures of the original deck. We had just purchased new furniture, which we put in the garage, so furniture is good to go.

I would like to put some lights on the new posts, and I would like stairs the come off the deck to the side yard and backyard.

Also, I was wondering if we could put a second lower tier deck off to the side, not as big but a place to put the grill and a small table and a bench or something. DH thinks the second tier smaller deck will look wrong because of the fence.

The fence was destroyed so that will be replaced too, which means we will most likely move the gate farther away from the house I appreciate your help.

Thanks for the suggestion, Marti8a. Just had contractor over and he suggested just the two stairways. We are going with Vinyl railings (Endurance). I would love to see if anyone can photoshop where to place stairs. Thinking... almost same area for the side stairs and more centered for the stair going out to the backyard. Worried if I center the side stairs the walk way will be block by our table. Would love some low voltage lights on the post caps especially the ones at the top of the stairs.

Another idea would be a stair case at the corner, so the stairs lead down towards side and backyard at the same time...

I can't photoshop it either, but it looks like you certainly have a lovely space to expand to something like what marti8a suggested. I personally wouldn't constrain to railing all the way around if it were mine and like the idea of tiered step downs rather than the multiple stairways with railings. Make the step-downs wide and you open up the whole space and make it look larger. Use the railings where you do want to create a sense of privacy, such as on the end by your neighbor, for example. And maybe you could create a privacy screen or arbor for part of that portion of the deck.
