We are in the final stages of a kitchen remodel and have decided on a 52" to 54" round table. My decorator says it should have a round rug under the table. Would this be best? How many inches past the edge of the table should a rug go? Would a 8 foot(96 inches) diameter rug be too small or a 9 foot(108 inches) rug be too big? Also how far from the edge of the table should a chair be able to pull out? If you think I can do a square rug, could a I pull off a 8 x 9 foot rug? Thank you for your time and advice.
