If you could find an oriental rug combining all these colors , that would be a great solution. I once used an oriental wool runner in front of a double vanity and it wore like iron, the tight weave made it easy to spot clean.

If you're looking at solid color typical bath rugs, then I would go with the almond or white, so there would be no contrast with your floor, and no attention called to the rug.

I would also go with the lighter shades. A red/wine solid will be very hard to keep clean in a bathroom - every thread from a towel, lint, etc. will draw the eye.
If you can find one, I like the suggestion mitchdesj made about using a patterned rug pulling in the various shades used in the room.

You might consider these from JC Penney. I think English Garden in the maroon colorway, or Glendale in the sandstone, could work in the room and give you a little pattern and interest on the floor. I think the other rugs on that page are perhaps the wrong color to work, tho Sahara in the crimson or wheat might have possibilities, but perhaps would be too busy? Be sure you click on the 'other views' to see the full pattern of the rugs in the different colorways.

These are all washable, which is a must for me in a bathroom.

les, I'm so glad I came across this thread. We are in a new house (after losing all to Katrina) so are trying to replace just about everything. I loved the JC Penney rugs, in fact ordered one for a bathroom and one for what we call an "inbetween" room - leads out to an upstairs balcony and also to the media room. Brick floors in that area so needed something that will take a lot of foot traffic but also warm up the small space. Perfect. Thanks.
