Need Help Choosing Rangehood

Hello, as a longtime lurker and first time poster, I am asking for some advice. Our kitchen plans are complete, appliances purchased, finishes for the most part decided on. I thought the rangehood would be easy, but so far has been troublesome.

I am including a scan of my rangetop wall, which is 13.5 feet long. The ceilings are 9'. The rangetop is a 36" Wolf. the cabinets are inset doors, off white. The counter top is soapstone.

All of the appliances are stainless.

My dilemma: the hood is going to be shoehorned into the space between the windows. I believe the hood would look best with the duct going all the way to the ceiling.

We have it narrowed down to 2 choices. 1st is the Vent-a-hood Excalibur, seen here.

The negatives of this are that it may look massive, in that the duct cover goes from window to window all the way to the ceiling, twice as high as in the photo.

The other choice is a modified version of the same hood's Island version, seen here,

It seems a little more pleasing to my eye, because the duct cover would be 24" width at the top of the hood. Of course this version is "custom" and $1200 more than the first version.

please let me know honest opinions, or maybe start from scratch? thanks
