Apple t.v. Is around $100 and you can use it to control music, too. If you go this route it can be controlled with an I-pod as well as your t.v., the t.v can see the I-tunes music library on your computer even when dh is using it via "home sharing".

We used apple airport in our kitchen only because our Reno was before apple t.v. added this feature. We run our music in the office with apple tv and it's great.
