Wall clock in bathroom

I am thinking of getting a wall clock for our master bath. Would the moisture interfere with operation or would it corrode the batteries? What's the general consensus? Thanks!

joanie, I don't have a wall clock but I have a little battery-run travel clock on a shelf in my very small master bath. Without it I would dawdle and lose track of time altogether. My bathroom doesn't have a fan but there is a window in the shower that is open year-round. No problems with excess moisture or corroded batteries. I used to have one that used those little round flat batteries that are hard to find and needed to be replaced a lot. Now I have a cute little analog that uses one AA.

We have had a wall clock beside the sink in the bathroom......no problems at all with battery corrosion.

I've always had one in my bath without an issue.

    Great news! Thanks all....

I use a small Timex, night light/clock combination that plugs into an outlet. I believe the outlet powers the night light and the batteries power the clock.

I've had the current one about 8 years; and one before that for 12-14 years.

It's simple, was inexpensive, unobtrusive, accurate, adds just enough light at night, and leaves the lower plug accessible. I put in a new battery every couple of years or so.

This is not my photo, but my nightlight is just like it.

While we're on the subject, where do those of you with wall clocks in the bath hang them?

I have a small master bath, with alcove tub/shower on one end, toilet and vanity together on one longer wall, and door at the end of the other longer wall. Mine used to be on the wall across from the toilet and vanity. Suddenly, it seems odd to have it viewable from the toilet, but behind me at the vanity. I've moved it above the toilet, but that has to be lower than I'd like due to a little window awkwardly placed above and just left of the toilet. Having it low like that seems to place an odd focus on the toilet, but I don't really know where else to put the dumb thing! Am I over thinking this? Can you post pictures of yours?

mine is hung on a wall that is about 20 ft from shower. has been there for years and years. no problems. Bigger issue is to keep it dust free.

Caroline, I have that same clock (in two bathrooms) :)
linelle, just out of curiosity, where do you live that you can keep a window open year around? Not too hot, not too cold and not too humid. Sounds like paradise (which I an NOT in)!

I put a wall clock in my bathroom, as I liked to keep an eye on the time while getting ready for work (washing, makeup, fixing hair) so I wouldn't run late. Unfortunately, there is no fan in the bathroom, so I open the window before showering, for ventilation. Unfortunately, during our cold winters, I can only open it a bit, or I freeze! Every winter, the clock stops working, if I forget to take it off the wall and put it out of the room before showering. It does work again a few hours later, once the room is less moist. I do love having the clock there, more than I hate having to remove it before I shower, so it'll stay put.

I had wall clocks in all the kids' bathrooms as they were growing up and never had a problem with them... and one child took VERY long showers!!!

I have one in my bath, probably 8' from the shower. The only problem is that it ticks very loudly and we have to kept the door shut.

monicakm, I live an hour north of San Francisco. Mediterranean climate, which is probably why this is wine country. It might dip into the 20s overnight occasionally in the winter, but that's about it.

Same clock for 30 years, keeps on ticking.

My parents have had the same one in theirs since maybe 1990 and everything has been fine. There wasn't a vent fan in there either until just recently. You'll be alright.
