Help design my kitchen

So we are meeting with the cabinet maker/installer this week. Any suggestions before we go would be great. We posted our house plans on the build forum and made 85% of the suggested changes

There will not be a butler's pantry or dining room (not shown). The room that was the dining room with the butlers pantry is going to be used for a video/tv/computer room. The butlers pantry shown will be squared off to add an additional cabinet to the kitchen wall along the garage (which is on the bottom of the pic - not shown.

I am thinking: the sink centered on the counter facing the dinette; the range/microwave against the mud/laundry room; fridge along the garage wall closest to the left-essentially replacing the butler pantry. Next to fridge I am thinking one pair of floor to ceiling "pantry" cupboards and maybe a counter without the bottom cabinet to put a stool under for "office" area.

I do not want an island. I need the breakfast bar for the kids. It works for the way we live. Me, DH and 3 kids (17, 14 and 7). DD14 is in and out of a wheelchair but can transfer and stand and ambulate so we are not doing lowered cabinets/counters but the breakfast bar will be angled the same as the opposite end to make it easier for her to move around and save my hips for constant wacking. There will be a half wall at the dinette/countertop to give us additional electrical and backsplash.

Welcome to the Kitchen forum. From what I've seen over the months of reading on this forum, it is very likely that the design gerus will need a more detailed drawing with detailed measurements and where exactly you are proposing various items, frig, stove, cabinets etc. They are extremely helpful and insightful but they will need more information then you have given.

What if you kept the space for the BP, expand a couple of feet across if necessary, and used that as a walk-in pantry? Even if you add a shallow cabinet pantry for canned goods on that RF wall, a deeper storage area may be useful.

OTH, even if you use the DR as a den, you may find having a butler's pantry equipped with a small refrig and prep sink there will come in handy.

You have space in your laundry under the window for a corner desk area if you want to keep paperwork separate from kitchen.

Given the wheelchair, I'd round out the corners rather than doing an eased edge or clipping them, and don't forget to do both the great rm as well as the kitchen side of the peninsula.

I think in general you may find the U facing completely away from the Dinette area tedious. Not that the distance is that far but having to walk in the opposite direction, in a sense, by traveling around the end of the peninsula. It would be much more convenient to have an entry oriented toward the eating area, or two entries into the work area of the kitchen. I plan more single entry kitchens than not, given the spaces I have to work with, but I would recommend either relocating the traffic pattern or creating two ways in/out of the kitchen proper.
