Hello All, I have a chest of drawers in pine that I'd like to finish in a dark espresso color. I am not a fan of the grain on pine anyway.And pine is a wood that blotches like there's no tomorrow. So i was wondering if I could just thin down good old latex paint with thinnner and then roll it on over the drawer fronts and brush it on where needed.

I am thinking this would show some of the grain since the paint wouldnt be totally opaque and be a lot easier and less messy than staining and stuff.

I'd appreciate all advice
