What do you want to accomplish with the window treatment? Light control? Black-out? Privacy? Or are you just dressing the window?

your wall color is very nice. Could you post a pic of the bedding? Might give people a better idea of what might work.

How about woven wood blinds with red tones, you can get them lined for light control and privacy I think they would look great in there. Something like the link below...

I like the look of woven shades. I had them in a sunroom where I didn't need privacy. In a bedroom, it's a bit more complicated. When they are raised, people can see in your windows. And depending on the shade, sometimes they can see through the shade.

You might want to consider wooden slat blinds. They offer the same flexibility as the vinyl blinds you have now. But look better.

As for the sheers, you could still use them. And/or you could change over to stationary panels.

Cool. I ordered samples of both types. I need privacy because my neighbor's driveway is right under that window. (Live in the city and houses are close together)

You can get the woven wood shades with privacy lining.

The problem with woven shades with privacy lining is that when they are closed the room is dark and when they are open, people can see in your windows. Ideally you want privacy and light at the same time. (This is a personal quirk of mine - I hate walking into a dark room in the middle of the day.)

I would put 2 inch horizontal blinds and neutral panels in a color similar to your wall color placed high and wide on the window. That will provide privacy and light control and make your window appear larger. Place the curtain rod 10 to 12 inches above the window and 10 to 12 inches to each side.

I love the Ikeas Aina Linen Curtains, they are $49 for a pair and come in natural, grey and bleached white. They are not lined but you can buy a liner for them if you need them to be room darkening.

I would not put sheers or red drapes.
