Roguevalley, did you happen to go on the Holiday Home tour yesterday? I go every year, and can't get motivated to decorate for Christmas until I do.
I came home from the tour and put the centerpiece together.

I missed it! I heard that it was fantastic. I completely redid my Christmas tree decorations this year. I'm afraid had I gone on the tour I would have ended up spending even more money than I already have. Although look how well you did for almost free. I went to the Festival of Trees on Saturday. Did you take that in?

Gee I don't know 2.50 for an arrangement is too much. :) sorry couldnt resisit. I like everything about it, but especially the balls you used to anchor the birch branches and the bit of color you added to the branches to pick up the color in the balls. The whole arrangement is very eye pleasing.

Yes, I also went to the Festival of Trees on Saturday. My daughter and I decorated trees for several years, so I always go and see how they "rate". My daughter is in college now, and really misses it.

Those branches were actually left over from a fundraiser that I was involved with. We had to come up with "practically free" centerpieces for that, and I gathered up enough branches for 14 centerpieces. Those were a bit different though. One member of the group had just had her daughter's wedding and she had enough very slim vases for us to group three on a charger plate with a bow tied around them and just a few branches in each vase.

Very pretty! Simple and elegant in form.

One thing you might consider is getting some of the very fine copper glitter, almost like a glitter dust, and after lightly brushing some craft glue on a few of the branches, sprinkle on the fine glitter. Or, spray a few of the branches with metallic copper spray paint (or dry brush on some copper craft paint lightly here and there). It will create a wonderful connection between the metallics of the charger, ornament, and the branches.

I really like that Iridescent fabric, too. I could use something like that for my mantel decoration. Good job! It's subtle and not "over the top" like too many decorations I see.

I think this is so pretty...a nice contrast going on between shiny and matte, rough and smooth. And sparkly is never wrong at this time of year.

My mom did something similar (with a different type of twig) when she was widowed and didn't want to set up a tree. It's a nice way to display the bulbs! Good idea with the glitter glue and the charger!
