Well, it does sound like that - LOL.

lol I ran across an "amoire" in CL today. (& they spelled it that way 3 times, so it wasn't a typo) I'm sort of looking for one, but I'm not really ready yet. It's a good reminder to not rely on correct spelling when you're doing a search!

And all the various spellings for "chaise longue," too... the one I liked best was "chaser long."

How about sofer? I realize we New Englanders drop and add Rs, but really? I had a friend who moved from upstate New York to Boston and couldn't understand why everyone called her Donner (instead of Donna), like the reindeer.

Well, ya know, sometimes you are just lookin' around on the web for an Armwah or prehaps an old Ringer Washer...or even a decorative Rot Iron table.....and then Walla!! There it is!
You sometimes just gotta have payshunts. And when it finally does appear, you can say "congradulations to me!"

Around here -- mid-Tennessee -- people often sell Chester Draws.

I suspect a fine artist, maybe?

my favorite is still the french preventional furniture on our CL. not bad looking either.

My pet peeve is all of the dinning tables you can find - and you can find a LOT of them!

I only wish I knew how to din on one....

I saw a light fixture called a Candle Opera on our CL. Around these parts in SC, Chester Drawers and Rod Iron furniture is quite common. I've only seen the one Candle Opera though. Maybe cause we's not real cultured 'round here.

I read about a woman who named her baby Formica Dinet. She saw that in a want ad and thought it sounded like a beautiful name for her baby girl.

loL lyndac, that was funny.

linda, brilliant :)

And French Preventional furniture? I thought for a second that maybe that was spellcheck autoreplace at work, but I don't think Preventional is even a word LOL

These are all just too much.
