We put in an overhead light, 2 island pendants and 2 undercab zones with LEDs - one over the sink and one for the rest. There is also a fan/light over the dining table and another ceiling light in the adjoining hallway. If I turned them all on at once, it would be much, but the options are endless. My suggestion is to plan for more than you think you need. Use LEDs for under-cabinets and put them on dimmers. The UCL LEDs are one of our favorite parts of the remodel.

I used a lighting designer. Worth every penny.
