Caesarstone 2 Colors - Weird?

Hi GW'ers:

My kitchen remodel requires 2 slabs of Caesarstone Raven for the countertops. There's enough square footage to push us into 2 slabs. I thought I could do a small section of the countertop near the fridge in a contrasting Caesarstone - Misty Carrera - which the fabricator has as a remnant. This would definitely be less wasteful and more cost-effective. Would that work with the Raven and the color of my cabinets? The cabinets will be in maple with a Shaker door in a honey color. It's hard to see with the layout picture, but the countertop run that will have the contrasting countertop would be at the bottom of the picture. Thanks so much in advance for your input!

I've seen several homes with the island a different color, and some even a different material, than the rest of the counters. ie: granite on island, laminate or other material in a different color on wall mounted cabinets.

Is your separate piece the one on the bottom left of the layout, just 2 cabinets set away from all the rest? That almost reads as a separate "island", so why not? (Especially if you can save a good chunk of $$ in the process.)

I'll bet most people would think that was a design element from the beginning and think you were very clever to pull it off.

I think it looks good-- actually better than having all one color. You're lucky to have found the Misty Cararra remnant! Must be destiny!

picture 4141 on the caesarstone website shows a butcherblock large island and misty carrera on the section opposite it, with dark cabinets; the contrast is not so jarring; it can actually look like a designated pastry center, people who do those usually use a slab of marble to roll out pastry.
