Faucet Foot Controls?

Any recommendations for a floor control for the kitchen sink faucet? Thanks!

The Tapmaster is a perennial favorite on GW.

Does the control have to be on the floor? Could it be in the toekick area and operated by foot?

If so, many people here have the Tapmaster and love it.

While getting the URL for it, I discovered they have a new product that does go on the floor as well as the "toekick" ones.

    BTW...they're less expensive at Conserv-A-Store:

Euro-style: http://www.conservastore.com/productdetail.php?p=326 (This is the one I'm thinking of getting.) [$295.95 vs $345]

    Kick plate: http://www.conservastore.com/productdetail.php?p=60

Some people have gotten a "tap" faucet instead. It's not really hands-free, but it is less expensive than Tapmaster. However, with those "tap" faucets, you still have to touch the stem or head of the faucet to turn it on/off...so (1) you still have to have a hand relatively free and (2) you still have to touch the faucet...which may or may not be an issue for you when you have "yucky chicken hands" (a phrase used here to mean touching something like a faucet when you've just been working with raw chicken.)

Here is a link that might be useful: Tapmaster (USA site)

    I recommend the Tapmasta!

    And Conserv-a-store.

We LOVE the tapmaster on both sinks. My DH thought it was going to be a waste but now he wants them on the bathroom sinks! We have the Euro version - not the toe kick one. I thought it would be less obtrusive but either would be fine. It takes a day or 2 to get use to it.

Thanks for the input all. It seems Tapmaster does indeed have a corner on the GW market!

One reason we're going with Tapmaster (which we don't have installed yet---so can't vouch for it there) is that it's the only model I could find that allowed you to toggle between manual and foot operation of the faucet with the device itself. All of the others I looked at, including the model widely touted by some chefs for home kitchens, required you to go under the sink and physically switch the connection, which was a no go for us. (In our case my husband really wanted it and was willing to say yes to a long list of things I wanted in exchange for it---I'm still pretty wedded to my handles, though, so we'll see how that pans out!) We did look at anything I could find that was cheaper, since the Tapmaster is going to cost twice as much as our faucet, so that was a little daunting. As far as specs/functionality, it does seem to be a notch above.

artemis - which model did you decide to go with - Euro or other?

The Euro 1775 (I think that's it? the one with continuous flow).

arbordomus (you can see his kitchen in the FKB) has another type of foot pedal. His setup (independent of the foot pedal) allowed him to bypass the faucet's mixer, and this lets him get water either with the foot pedal, OR by hand with the faucet hand lever. This can be done with any foot pedal.
